Tour & Class Guidelines

Welcome to Boehm’s! To keep our tours safe, enjoyable, and respectful of our working factory, please review the following guidelines. Your tour guide will also go over these before your visit begins.

Arrival & Check-In

  • Please arrive at least five minutes before your scheduled tour time.
  • One representative from your group should check in at the retail shop upon arrival.
  • If your group is more than five minutes late, we may need to shorten or cancel your tour to stay on schedule with production and other commitments.

Safety in the Factory

  • Stay with your guide and follow instructions at all times.
  • Keep at least an arm’s length away from tables and machinery.
  • DO NOT TOUCH anything unless given permission.
  • Back/front packs are suggested for young children who may need to be held during the tour.
  • Service animals are not permitted in the factory portion of the tour (per FDA guidelines). Accommodations can be arranged for viewing of the chalet/chapel upon request.

Courtesy During your visit

  • Please refrain from talking while your guide is speaking.
  • Phones should be silenced; if you must take a call, notify your guide and you’ll be directed to an exit (you may miss part of the tour).
  • Photography is welcome for personal use (no video or selfie sticks). Please ask before photographing staff or other guests. Commercial use requires prior written permission from Boehm’s.
  • Disorderly conduct or disruptive behavior may result in the tour being ended without refund.

Accessibility & Walking

  • Tours involve 50–70 minutes of walking/standing; no seating is available.
  • Stairs and gravel paths are part of the route; strollers, walkers, and wheelchairs may not be able to access all areas (chalet and chapel in particular). If you prefer a factory-only tour, please arrange in advance (same rate applies).

Facilities & Parking

  • No outside food or drink inside the factory, chalet, or chapel.
  • Please avoid parking directly in front of the retail shop; use the second row, gravel lot, or street parking above the store.

Tour Experience Notes

  • There is no candy production on weekdays after 3:00 pm, weekends, and holidays. Video monitors throughout the factory provide a behind-the-scenes look at typical production.
  • The High Alpine Chapel may be closed if reserved for weddings or private events (typically weekends).
  • Historical artwork on display may include religious or classical themes, including depictions of nudity, and cannot be removed or altered.

Health & Safety

  • Tours may be canceled or adjusted in accordance with updated CDC, state, or federal guidelines. In this case, a full refund will be provided.

Cancellations & Changes

  • 72+ hours’ notice → Full refund
  • 24–72 hours’ notice → Full store credit
  • Less than 24 hours or no-show → No credit or refund
